As a Volunteer Program Manager you will be responsible for managing the heart of our mission - our volunteers. You will work closely with Store Managers on a variety of strategic initiatives involving volunteers. You will be maintaining the orientation and training of our volunteers, managing the recruitment of new volunteers, and raising awareness of volunteer opportunities for Many Hands and the Many Hands Thrift Market.
What you'll do
- Organize, coordinate, and manage the volunteer opportunities for the Many Hands and the thrift stores
- Work with civic and local organizations forming partnerships to develop and utilize volunteers
- Find and recruit new volunteers and partnerships
- Attend various chamber meetings and other events
- Provide an education component - share the Many Hands story
- Be the organizational expert in our volunteer software, executing tasks within the software
- Capture trends of successful and unsuccessful activities
- Develop training and materials for volunteers
- Plan and present staff and volunteer meetings
- Conduct 30-day and 90-day check-ins with volunteers
- Reward and recognize volunteers

- Self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- 4 year college degree with a major in Business Management, Communications, and/or similar work experience preferred
- 5 years of experience and/or training in a similar field
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time; bend, reach, and stretch repeated during a shift
- Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends)
