Today at our Business over Breakfast we had speakers Justin Miller and Shane Scott from WDM Community Schools talk about Career Exploration and Connections!

West Des Moines Community Schools are constantly striving toward our ideal portrait of a graduate. One area of focus is shifting the paradigm of success for students and showcasing various pathways available to students after high school. WDMCS provided a construction update on facilities geared toward hands-on learning experiences that mimic those of prospective careers (focus on Valley Southwood campus) as well as offered an overview of their Lunch & Learn program, which exposes their future professionals to different career opportunities. Lastly, WDMCS highlighted career pathways, apprenticeship programs, and ways to connect and cultivate relationships with their community businesses.
