Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa (BBBSIA) has received a grant from Variety - the Children’s Charity of Iowa to support match activities for Littles and Bigs in their mentoring programs.

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa is a nonprofit organization serving Polk, Warren, and Dallas counties, creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Through these relationships, young people gain confidence, build skills, and create meaningful connections that help shape their futures.

 

Funding from Variety - the Children’s Charity of Iowa will provide opportunities for Littles and Bigs to build and strengthen their relationships through shared experiences. Activities supported by the grant include a Valentine’s Day party, a jump event at Get Air, escape room experiences at Escapology, roller skating activity, game cards to Dave & Buster’s, and 2 movie days at Flix. Funds were also used to enhance BBBSIA’s Youth Mentoring Center game room with the addition of a foosball and ping pong table, creating more opportunities for connection and engagement.
