Clive City Council Approves Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget

CLIVE, Iowa –  The Clive City Council approved its Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget during a special meeting on April 29, 2024. Clive is decreasing its property tax rate while making historic investments in streets, parks, and other infrastructure.
"This budget aligns with Clive's strategic plan to keep our community a wonderful place to live with safe and beautiful neighborhoods. Clive has a strong tradition of fiscal stewardship and thoughtful planning. We’re keeping taxes fair and predictable and making investments in infrastructure that will serve the community for decades," said Clive Mayor John Edwards.
Budget highlights:

  • Clive is taking a significant step to ease the financial burden on its residents.  After 8 straight years with no increase in its property tax rate, Clive is lowering its tax rate to $9.92 per $1,000 valuation, a $0.22 decrease from the previous year.
  • The cost of municipal services and infrastructure for a typical Clive household will decrease by $264.62 per year, or 8.8%, from the previous year.
  • Clive is set to embark on several key infrastructure projects, including street reconstructions and repairs, flood mitigation, and developing parks and natural spaces, with a total FY 2024-2025 capital improvement investment of $ 38,657,500.
