Clive Updates Strategic Plan and Shares 2024 Resident Survey Results

CLIVE, Iowa—Clive's updated strategic plan responds to residents' feedback in setting the city's goals for next year. The plan outlines Clive’s accomplishments from the previous year, ensures projects align with the interests and values of Clive residents and businesses, and accounts for changes in the community.
“Our strategic plan reflects the priorities of Clive residents and businesses,” said Mayor John Edwards. “We’re on track to accomplish multiple goals this year that will deliver great value for taxes paid.”
After reviewing the City’s five-year strategic plan and the survey results, the Council decided to maintain the top goals from the previous year:

  • Financially sound city providing services valued by the community
  • Resilient City facilities and infrastructure
  • Revitalized 86th Street neighborhoods
  • Distinctive Clive Greenbelt
  • Great place to live: the premier location for families
The Council has prioritized a set of objectives and actions under these goals, some of which are multi-year projects already underway, while others are new projects that will launch in the coming months. Key projects include the Hickman Road and I-80/35 intersection construction project, starting construction on Linnan Park and Greenbelt Landing improvements, ongoing implementation of the 86th Street Neighborhoods Plan, extending the Greenbelt Trail along Little Walnut Creek, and investments in street maintenance.
