It's our 5th anniversary and we are expecting over 2000 guests!!!!! Please join us for Xtream Christmas In July on July 26th at Evelyn K. Davis Park from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM sponsored by Mediacom. This free outdoor event offers families food and fun, with something for everyone, while raising awareness of services available to them thru The Salvation Army including rent and utility assistance, food pantries, mobile breakfast feeding program, youth programs and so much more. All funds raised through sponsorships and online donations, after event costs, go to fund these programs. There are some new things to see this year and many returning favorites including: - Santa will be there for kids to visit and receive a small toy sponsored by Xtream Powered by Mediacom. - A free lunch provided by Fareway and sponsored by MidAmerican Energy with additional product donated by AE Dairy. - A free scoop of ice cream from The Outside Scoop Truck sponsored by Community State Bank. - A giant inflatable Christmas obstacle course sponsored by Prairie Meadows. - A giant Red Kettle bounce house sponsored by Bank Iowa. - Free face painting sponsored by Dubuque Bank & Trust. - Iowa Wild and mascot Crash are bringing back street hockey! - You can play 9 holes of miniature golf. - Free Pepsi products! - Gift cards from Chick-Fil-A! - West Homestead’s Healing Herd is bringing out live goats, including baby goats! - Our friendly neighborhood Spidey from Iowa League of Heroes will be with us from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. - Cubbie Bear with I-Cubs will be out between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - Des Moines Water Works will have a watering station and free water bottles if anyone gets thirsty. - Des Moines Police will be out helping Santa hand out toys. - Des Moines Fire Department plans to bring one of their engines for the kids to see up close! - Bass pro shop will be out with bucket fishing and prizes. - We all have the splash pad to cool off if it gets really hot! - and so much more in the works! We also know we cannot do it alone. It takes a village. This event is about connecting and educating the community on ALL resources available to help them or improve their lives. That is why we invite other nonprofits and vendors to join us in this event and provide a free resource guidebook available to attendees with information on all our sponsors and vendors at the event, including how they help our community and a QR code to get in touch.
