About Us

The Medicap Pharmacy® franchise began in 1971, with the opening of its first store in Des Moines, Iowa. Then called the Medicine Chest, this community pharmacy served as the prototype for all Medicap Pharmacy locations to come. It combined several ideas into a concept that is still basic to the Medicap Pharmacy approach to pharmaceutical care: convenience, savings, and an enhanced level of patient care. It is from these fundamental ideas that the Medicap Pharmacy philosophy took shape.

Our pharmacy group includes 24 community pharmacies across central Iowa, and is wholly owned by OneroRx, Inc. We believe in being a part of our community, giving back through charitable donations and participating in local and school events. We are committed to providing a higher level of customer care by continuously striving to find ways to better serve the people of our communities and providing the kind of personal attention you just can’t find anywhere else.
