The 2026 Iowa Pork Congress once again highlighted the generosity of Iowa’s pork community, raising approximately $53,000 during the annual Dollars for Swine Scholars Auction. The funds will support college scholarships awarded by the Iowa Pork Foundation to students pursuing careers in the pork industry.
Held in January at the Iowa Events Center, the auction brought producers, industry partners, and supporters together for an evening focused on good food, conversation, and supporting the next generation. The Dollars for Swine Scholars Auction continues to be a meaningful part of Iowa Pork Congress, connecting today’s industry leaders with the leaders of tomorrow.
One of the most impactful parts of the evening was recognizing recipients of the 2025 Iowa Pork Foundation scholarships. Several students attended and shared how the scholarships have supported their college experience and strengthened their career goals within the pork industry. Their perspectives offered a clear example of how these funds make a difference beyond the event itself.
“I would like to thank all the generous supporters who are helping not just the future of the swine industry, but the agricultural industry as a whole,” said scholarship recipient Tucker Rohrig. “These scholarships help lower the financial burden that comes with college and allow us to focus on pursuing our academic goals. On behalf of myself and all the other recipients, we are very grateful for the support of this group.”
Attendees bid on a wide range of items and experiences. This year’s top-selling packages included:
• CINCH World’s Toughest Rodeo Package – $4,750
• ISU Director’s Suite – $4,200
• Labor – Vaccinating Pigs – $2,200
• Iowa Cubs Suite Package – $2,100
The variety of auction items reflected both the strong industry ties and the community connections that define Iowa Pork Congress.
The Dollars for Swine Scholars Auction is organized by the Iowa Pork Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting Iowa’s pork producers and investing in students who plan to contribute to the industry. Scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, returning college students, and those pursuing advanced degrees.
Thank you to the donors, bidders, volunteers, and attendees who made the 2026 auction possible. The continued support ensures that students interested in pork production and related fields have opportunities to succeed and remain engaged in the industry.
